Last October I had the misfortune of having my "head explode," at least that is how I fondly refer to it. I was having terrible shooting, electrical shocks in my head, which I thought was a new kind of strange migraine. It started on a Saturday and I went to the doctor on Monday - which is unbelievably quick for me. Turns out I have a rare, and oh so fun, neurological disorder called
trigeminal neuralgia. The 5th cranial nerve is the trigeminal nerve, and there is something wrong with mine. Lucky for me my problem is responsive to medication. Well, now that my brain is doing well, my mother's is not.
About 18 months ago Bobbie was diagnosed with meningiomas, which are brain tumors. Hers, like most other meningiomas, are benign, and the doctor has been monitoring them for growth (there are two). I found out over the weekend that they are growing, and now need to be removed. So, she is having brain surgery in early May. If you are so inclined to send her cards or anything just get in touch with me and I'll send you her address.
I will be in Florida from May 3 - 14th. The photo of me, Mom and Wendy was taken in February 2007 - I got these shirts at one of the tourist shops on Hollywood Beach.
